The Diocese of Kalamazoo Office of Schools invites you to participate in a focus group on Tuesday, May 1 at 7 pm in the Crowley Center. The Office of Schools would like your input on the coming Strategic Plan.

Monday, May 7, 8:30 – 10:45 Invite your special person to spend the morning with us at school. Spring Concert will begin in the gym at 9:45 am.

Mary K. Carr Memorial Scholarship Students entering Hackett Catholic Prep in the fall are invited to apply for the Mary K. Carr Memorial Scholarship for the Arts. The scholarship provides $500 annually for four years toward tuition at Hackett Catholic Prep, to a student who is engaged in music, theatre, or fine art. More information and application materials can be found on Hackett’s website at http://www.hackettcatholicprep.org/?PageName=bc&n=253955. Applicants are asked to write an essay describing why the arts are important to them, and how the arts relate to their faith. They are also asked to provide one letter of recommendation. Applications are due on May 15, 2018.
Hosting a Guatemalan student We are exploring an opportunity to welcome Guatemalan students to our school through the Faces and Our Cultures Program. These young participants spend 7 ½ weeks living with a host family while attending middle school classes and participating in extracurricular activities at school. The program has led to wonderful friendships and has provided students in nearby schools and their Guatemalan guests with valuable cultural experiences. Gaby Padilla of Faces and Our Cultures will be at St. Augustine Cathedral School Monday, May 7 at 11 am, right after the Spring Concert. If you are interested in finding out more about the program, about possibly hosting a Guatemalan student for 7 ½ weeks in October/November, please RSVP to Andra Zommers, azommers@stakzoo.org .
Special Persons Day Please join St. Augustine Cathedral School students for Special Persons Day on Monday, May 7, 2018, from 8:30 am10:45 am. Students may invite a relative or friend, older sibling or parent to join them at school for the morning. Tour the classrooms and enjoy the STREAM Student Showcase, which will be set up in the K-2 classrooms and the Crowley Center North Meeting Room. Enjoy student artwork displayed throughout the school building hallways. In addition, be sure to stop at our fun stations and do an activity with your special person. Finally, at 9:45 make your way to the Crowley Center Gym for the Spring Concert. STREAM Student Showcases will be displayed beginning Friday, May 4th from 2:30-3:30 pm, Sunday, May 6 during Coffee and Doughnuts, and on Monday, May 7th until 10:45 am.
Faith, Knowledge, Stewardship St. A License plates We have new SpiritWear!!! St. A is selling green license plate frames with our school name and website in white letters. These can be purchased for $5 in the school office. All proceeds will go into the John Robert Amat Fund which provides financial gifts to new K-8 students that join our family!
Sack lunches available! We are heading into field trip season. Our food service program is offering sack lunches for your children on field trip days. If you are interested, you can sign up for a sack lunch by emailing Rhonda Clark, rclark@hackettcp.org . Food service will ensure that sack lunches are delivered to schools before buses depart.
