Migrant Ministry through St. Thomas More
Ree Millard at mmlady11@gmail.com or 720-0510
For the migrant camp visits, volunteers generally meet at St. Toms and then head over to the camp together and then on the way home stop for ice cream. Clarissa Krajewski, young adult volunteer at Hackett for YDisciple and Agnus Dei, has agreed to go every week to be a person Hackett students can be comfortable asking questions to and to volunteer. Please email Kathy Williams if you are interested in attending the camp visits. They are a great and fun way to get volunteer hours. It will be an experience you will never forget!
Ark in the Dark Firefly 5K Run
This is a fundraiser 5K for the Ark Shelter for homeless youth in the Kalamazoo Area. It will be held on August 18th at 8 pm. They need help setting up, running the race, and with clean up. Contact: Jeannine Boehm at jeannineboehm@ccdok.org or at 269-381-1234
Vacation Bible School at St. Catherine of Sienna Catholic Parish
The theme of VBS this year is SPLASH CANYON and it will be held on July 16-20 from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm. There are many ways that students can volunteer. Help will be needed with crafts, outside games, skits, working in the preschool area and working with groups of kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th-grade children. The students can choose where they would like to help or they can place them where needed. They would prefer for students to volunteer all week but if they know in advance which days they can volunteer, then they can plan accordingly.
Please contact Janet Ingersoll at jingersoll@stcatherinesiena.org or at 327-0861 to sign up to volunteer.
Cheff Thereapeutic Riding Center
For the months of June and August, volunteers would be able to help with our regular Therapeutic Riding classes. Days and times vary but most classes run on Monday thru Wednesday evenings.
For the month of July however, volunteers would be helping with Summer Camp! We have three weeks of Summer Camp this year. July 16th (camp from 9-4), and July 23rd (camp from 9-noon).
Volunteers will need to complete the online volunteer application found at our website (http://www.cheffcenter.org/), as well as an orientation. We have an upcoming orientation on Saturday, July 21st, from noon to 4 p.m.
Contact Whitney Faltner at Whitney@cheffcenter.org or (269) 731-4471 x 119 for more information
